красный. Производных, как и в русском, обилие:Red hot — важный, горячий в переносном смысле. А можно так назвать и обычную сосиску - hot dog. Первое значение просматривается в названии, например, группы Red Hot Chili Pepper - смесь кулинарии и саморекламы.

Red-assed — злой, в бешенстве.Имеется в виду, конечно, не красная задница, а красное лицо, но задница должна тоже быть красной, раз лицо покраснело, и вообще, лицо в каком то смысле задница, такие вот филолого-психологические ассоциации.Red-faced — как и у нас покраснеть от стыда.
